JUST SAYING! As much as I believe you should not ignore these symptoms, they may not be anything to worry about. So, I suggest DO NOT PANIC, but please see a healthcare professional to assess you properly.

Change to menstrual bleeding

If your menstrual cycle has always been regular and you suddenly notice a change, this is something to take note of. It could be just "one of those things" , no reason, no worry. However, if you have a few cycles of it being different to normal, please see a healthcare professional. It could be anything ranging from stress to cancer. But it's worth having it checked over.

DO NOT IGNORE:

  • Bleeding after sexual intercourse, especially if it keeps happening

  • Bleeding between periods. Now, it could be just mid cycle bleeding which is not so worrying but again, if it is new, it needs investigation. Spotting and bleeding at different points when you're not due to bleed also needs investigation

  • Bleeding after you have gone through the menopause, please do not ignore this. Whether it's only spotting or its a heavier bleed, it really shouldn't happen after your periods have stopped and it needs investigation. One of the worrying causes of this is endometrial cancer.
